Space Wolves: Long Fang Squad
More of my Space Wolf Warhammer 40K Army.
In a word, the Long Fangs serve as the long-ranged heavy weapon support unit of any Space Wolves army. I re-mounted them on larger metal washers earlier this year because I found the figures too top heavy.

" Fear God and Dread Nought"
As I already admitted, I have a dark secret. In years gone-by, I played Warhammer 40K, and I still possess a Space Wolves Army. My addiction didn't stop there. Over the years I supported Games Workshop by discretely purchasing their miniatures for non-GW sanctioned games. If that makes me a heretic, then heretic I am.
An early purchase was the Contemptor Class Dreadnought. It is difficult to find images of their early dreadnought models but I found two photos online. One reports to be a GW figure from 1987, and the other is an image from their 1991 catalogue. In my opinion both images clearly identify the figure I have. IMO it wasn't one of the workshops' more successful designs.
Below is an example of a really bad paint job, and I am the person responsible.

But the Contemptor does not stand alone. What Space Wolf army would be complete without Bjorn the Fell-Handed and a trusted Iron Priest to keep him running.

My Unit of the Adeptus Arbites
"We determine
the guilty. We decide the punishment." —Lex Imperialis.
The Arbites are the
dreaded judges, or police within the WH40K universe and I have a unit of them
to go along with an Imperial Commissar. It is my dirty secret. I blogged for
over 3 years and I don’t think I mentioned WH40K once in Captain’s Blog.

I also have a Space
Wolves Army that I have kept hidden. I used to play 40K many moons ago, before
I left Halifax. My long time gaming buddy Harris MacPhail, ran a Space Orks
army, and also an Imperial Guard force. We were first introduced to Games Workshop
via Rogue Trader by Rob Swan and Harris eventually surrendered to the dark
side. He kept buying the minis and the rulebooks as they evolved through the
years. I stopped with the 2nd edition.
From reading on the
net, my understanding is the Arbites were dropped from the game. It seems that
the Emporor’s Chain Dogs had no place on the 40K battlefield. That’s too bad, I
like the look of the figures but I can still use them with Traveller.

As for
the Commissar, he is present to ensure the loyalty and moral purity of the unit
to which he is attached by any means necessary. Another way to look at it, he's in charge of morale.
